Heritage

A little history.

The bay's karsts are ancient coral reef, lifted and carved by the sea into caves, hongs and hidden lagoons; people sheltered in them 10,000 years ago and left ochre paintings on the walls. Khao Phing Kan became 'James Bond Island' after The Man with the Golden Gun filmed there in 1974, and Phi Phi Leh's Maya Bay was made famous by The Beach in 2000 — now protected and carefully rationed.
