A little history.
Tin money built Old Phuket Town. From the 1800s, Hokkien Chinese miners and merchants arrived in their thousands, and their wealth raised the Sino-Portuguese shophouses and mansions of Thalang and Dibuk Road — pastel façades and five-foot walkways that are still lived in and traded from today.
