Karma Borgo di Colleoli has evolved since the late Middle Ages, first as a castle and later as a villa for Tuscany's aristocracy during the Renaissance. Today it is a sprawling, beautifully restored resort perched on a hill and surrounded by wineries and olive groves.
A full week gives you time for it all: Florence, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra are within easy driving distance, and the beaches of Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta, Viareggio and Cecina are close by. Evenings belong to Enoteca Leoli, the wine bar and the pools at sunset.
