Hoi An & Cam Thanh, Central Vietnam
Hoi An Vietnam
A river-and-palm landscape outside Hoi An, where village life, wellness and a lantern-lit trading port meet.
Hoi An's ochre merchant houses and timber assembly halls preserve centuries of exchange between Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and European traders.
Karma Duyên sits nearby in Cam Thanh, offering seven nights for two at £149 beside the Đò River, with an infinity pool, spa and farm-to-table dining.
Heritage
A little history.
Hoi An flourished from the fifteenth to nineteenth centuries as an international trading port. Its compact old town preserves wooden shophouses, family chapels, Chinese assembly halls and the Japanese Covered Bridge.
Cam Thanh's waterways and nipa palms supported fishing and farming communities outside the port. Basket boats still move through the coconut channels today.
