Heritage
A little history.
Oktoberfest began in 1810 as a public celebration of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. The festivities were held on fields later named Theresienwiese in the princess’s honour. Today, the annual festival combines historic parades, traditional music, regional food, decorated beer tents and a celebrated Munich fairground atmosphere.
