Tenerife · Canary Islands, Spain
Tenerife North
Volcanic ridges beneath Mount Teide, wild Atlantic coast and old colonial towns in the green highlands.
Heritage
A little history.
The green, Atlantic-facing north is the island's original heart. Puerto de la Cruz welcomed Europe's first tourists in the 1800s — botanists, painters and consumptive aristocrats sent south for the air — and the Orotava Valley was described by Humboldt as one of the most beautiful views on earth.
