About The Area
Life around Karma Bayon.
Siem Reap balances a lively riverside city with rural Cambodia at its edges. Markets, pagodas and creative restaurants sit only a short drive from quiet rice fields and the ancient Angkor landscape.
Temple days can start before sunrise and pause through the heat, with the resort's gardens and pools waiting between visits.
A Little History
Stories of the past.
Angkor was the centre of the Khmer Empire for more than five centuries. Its kings created a vast urban landscape of temples, canals and reservoirs across the plain north of Siem Reap.
The monuments were never wholly abandoned, and Angkor Wat remained a place of worship. Modern Siem Reap grew as their gateway while retaining its own markets, river life and Khmer traditions.

World Heritage
The Temples of Angkor
Angkor Wat's towers, Bayon's carved faces and Ta Prohm's tree-wrapped galleries each reveal a different chapter of Khmer history.
The archaeological park is large enough for several visits, from sunrise at Angkor Wat to quieter forest temples later in the day.
